Membership & History

GUFC History

On 1 November 2022 Gippsland United was formed from an amalgamation of 3 clubs:

  • Gippsland Football Club (GFC)

  • Latrobe Women’s Football Club (LUWFC)

  • Warragul United Soccer Club (WUSC)

The vision of the original 3 clubs was to form a bigger, stronger and more sustainable club for our future.  GUFC is focused on growing participation, developing talent, offering the highest standard of football, streamlining administration, and championing women and girls’ football in Gippsland.

With support from GippSport, Football Victoria, Baw Baw Shire Council and Latrobe City Council, the three clubs worked together over several months to develop a club model that strengthens football’s position in Gippsland and provides more benefits to all members. All 3 club’s boards unanimously endorsed the amalgamation.
